The beautiful flame

I love to stare at this beautiful flame.
Bright in its light and warm in its heart.
It could light a room that’s pitch dark.
I can’t take my eyes off this beautiful flame.
The flame that keeps me alive.
It makes life bright.
As the flame dances around
I smile oddly as it dances with spread out wings.

I don’t know how
I don’t know why
but I feel the brightness fading
and its beauty evaporating.

I know one day this strong wax candle
will melt down to the last drop.
It will burn my hand but yet I choose to hold it.
Because holding this beautiful flame is worth the pain.

I don’t know how
I don’t know why
but I’m trying my best keep the flame alive
by covering it with my hand.

I see the flame fight
I see it struggle.
I know it’s strong and kind.
But then again one night I know it’s going to die.
I hope that night comes late and slow.
Because today and tonight I want it to shine as brightly as it could.

30 Lessons life taught me!

I’ll be turning 18 this year so to celebrate growing older and also courtesy of some self-reflection. I listed out some lessons that life taught me along the way. Also I would like extend my thanks to Zaid and Muzawwir for their input as well.

1. What ever you are going or went through, you are not alone.
2. If you have a plan, you have nothing worry about.
3. If you are planning out an event. Always make notes. Even the little things.
4. Friendship always has its ups and downs. So, don’t make decisions too quickly.
5. Pain can change people. So, don’t be surprised.
6. Don’t judge people. Because there might be tears hiding behind the clown’s face.
7. The best is yet to come.
8. No one remembers the one who gave up.
9. Love your parents no matter what.
10. Whatever happens just smile and accept it. You can’t control fate but you can control how you react to it.
11. Talk to God! He always listens.
12. Time heals most things.
13. One small conversation with a friend. Can sometimes make you forget all life’s problems.
14. Never abandon friends. Your busy schedule won’t take care of you when you are sick. Your friends will. Stay in touch.
15. Believe in miracles.
16. Always remember you are always loved by somebody.
17. Make sacrifices.
18. It’s not important to win any argument. Agree to disagree.
19. Grab as many opportunities as possible. One will lead to another.
20. Give meaning to everything in life.
21. If you really want something to be done. Give a reason. The stronger the reason, the stronger you strive.
22. Learn from mistakes. Both your’s and other’s.
23. Always be prepared.
24. Life isn’t fair, but it’s still good. It’s too short to grumble about it.
25. Inspire your self once in a while. The more regularly you bath, the more regularly you smell good.
26. Say NO once in a while.
27. Remember those who helped you.
28. Give without condition. God will smile on you.
29. Take a day off and treat your self. You are a human after all.
30. Last one. You can make a difference or you can just fit in but remember you just can’t do both. Your choice.

Feed your mind with creativity

I used to read short stories and novels almost every day. Sometimes I even go 8 hours reading continuously. Then as years went by the amount of work in life piled up and the time I spent reading books decreased. As social media took the lives of teenagers and adults alike, reading books become more of an afterthought when, only a few years ago it was more of a habit that made us entangled in a world of our own. To be honest I really miss the days when I used to stay up late not by watching movies or socializing on social media networks but reading novels that swept my feet and took me on a journey of its own.

In the recent times as I try to make creative decisions my mind tends to be lazy, unoriginal, boring and dull. When I used to do a lot of reading  these issues were never a problem for me. Sad to say I feel that today, the active mind of mine that used to ask questions and share a lot of ideas has worn out. I feel that it is the lack of feeding my mind with creativity and imagination. I guess you realized the worth of having something,  is only when you really need that something but it you don’t have it. It’s time for me to start reading more. I really miss reading and I regret to have stopped reading as much as I used to.

Nurture your mind with great thoughts, for you will never go any higher than you think.'

“Nurture your mind with great thoughts, for you will never go any higher than you think.”

My need for creative thinking and speaking out brainstorming ideas has forced me to make time for reading. The famous saying, “Reading maketh a full man” over flows with great meaning which I have now come to realize its meaning through my own experience.

“If you care for your mind, if you nurture it and if you cultivate it just like a fertile, rich garden, it will blossom far beyond your expectations. But if you let the weeds take root, lasting peace of mind and deep inner harmony will always elude you.” from the book, THE MONK WHO SOLD HIS FERRARI.

what happened to your burning desire?

What’s a burning desire? It is the motivation that makes you work, suffer, dance, cry, shout, stand up for what you want and believe that you can achieve your dreams. It’s when someone engages in an activity so much that it becomes what always thinks about, talks about and dreams about. There’s quotation of Martin Luther, “If you have not discovered anything to die for then you are not fit enough to live.” This world needs more people with burning desires. People whose lives would be judged by their actions. Surprisingly, whether you knew it or not, from very young days of your childhood you had experienced these burning desires. When we kids, we wanted to be superheroes, pilots, engineers, poets, writers, princesses, policemen, painters, we wanted to change the world, stand up and be counted, to get attention, climb trees, cross the road, buy candy and eat a lot of ice creams. You know that if children would not get what they want such as the chocolates, ice creams. They would cry! but why ?  because they would do anything to get what they want. I’m not saying to give the children what they want because as we all know that would make them stubborn. Unless if they deserve it of course! What I’m really pointing out is the fact that we ‘had’ those burning desires & asking you where did they go?

All you need is a burning desire.

Let me tell you where I think they got lost and remember things lost can be found. As we grew up, life taught us many things. Bad people got into our lives, disappointments, we got hurt, we fell down, we lost and then we followed the trend that goes by the principle, “we should not think too big, reach too high or love too much.” Some would call it life lessons because of that they stop chasing what they want. But I would take it as an opportunity to prove them wrong and make it a reason to fight for you want. You are meant to shine. You have a purpose, you just need to find it again. Like I said before, things lost can be found. Believe me once you find it, it will become the core of your existence. Thus, you will create your destiny. It get you up at the crack of dawn with fire in belly! Fire burning so bright, a burning desire you can call it.  A desire that will consume you! A desire that you will work hard for! A desire so beautiful and so meaningful. You will change the world and I firmly believe in that! You may want to help the people around. Help your colleagues reach their potential. Help the community. Bring innovative thinking in to the environment around you. All you need is get inside your mind and heart and find that beautiful, meaningful, lost burning desire!

I read about a man who is a lawyer, a leadership expert, motivational speaker, author, social worker. He wants people around the world to reach their potential. That is the whole population. He works day in and day out to try to make this a reality. Extremely crazy? Yes, but an extreme burning desire ? Definitely!

Is he special than you are? No,he just found his cause, his burning desire!

I am me

This is me.
This is how I’ll be.
I lay on my bed and sip my tea.
Thinking about life, freedom and my liberty.
Surrounding me the words of freedom as far as my eyes can see.
In the newspapers, radio and T.V
Everyone is in a rush and has the urge for emotion.
So wide, so diverse, so unpredictable to explain even for Tennessee.
This is me.
This is how I’ll be.
I may eat like a monkey.
I may act like a donkey.
I may think like a turkey.
and yes, seems like a comedy.
But this is me.
This is how I’ll be
So, don’t judge me.
Cause your validation is not important to me.
Same goes to you lady.
I don’t care about the colour of your saree
or design of your goatee.
Or where you were born as a baby.
Let’s put our differences and other things that I didn’t mention because I’m too lazy.
By doing so, lets live in harmony.
Because;
you need to be you.
I need to be me.
This is what we all must be.
or else we may lose our individuality.

A blessing in disguise or….?

Today I got my monthly exams starting. Three subjects, English, Business Studies & Accounts and History. So , as I woke up this morning and getting my self ready for school I suddenly felt my stomach my gurgling and rumbling. It was a another bad stomach. I don’t know if I am to take this as a good thing or bad thing because I get to stay home and not go to school to face any exam that day! 😀
You could call it a blessing in disguise (students point of view :p ) because I really was not ready for the exam!

Like wise I was staying at home I was thinking of people like us living in different parts of the world. Do they have these kinds blessings? Well, I don’t believe they just the same story as mine but still do they?
As every one of us know there are people dying and suffering out there. Struggling to find a sip of water to drink some food to ease their hunger. I could admit these people know much about stomach aches. Sometimes I think I’m guilty of enjoying that I had a stomach ache so that I could stay at home without facing my exams.

Read an article today, “Hunger and malnutrition are in fact the number one risk to the health worldwide — greater than AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis combined.” Ouch….!

25,000 people die every day because of starvation? These people are humans just like us, living with a family; father, mother, brother, sister except that they are starving and on the verge of death. We are lucky that we are not one of them. Well, everyone knows the fact that people suffer from hunger, diseases and other things but are we sensible enough to understand the pain and suffering the people undergo? Every time I hear or see some one suffering I try to imagine what if the kids begging for food in the streets is me ? What would be going through my mind ? Only then I could really feel the pain of it. Most of friends say they feel comfortable talking to me about their problems. It must this reason that you imagine yourself that you are that unfortunate person who is suffering. You know, they don’t really have to suffer. After all these years of developments and other crap all the countries have been doing.  It’s high time to focus on finding a solution to these problems or the least we can do is be part of the solution. There are more than a million organizations around the world that helps to feed them but for one minute we must stop and ask ourselves a very simple thing;  what is role we can play in it? It is our collective responsibility to help them in whatever way we can and not waste  food on our side of the world.Has anyone asked the question why is Africa the most affected continent? ( I’m just going to Google it and find out!) Africa is the most affected continent from hunger in the whole world and one thing we must always remember when we attempt to waste ‘Children in Africa starve while you just waste’

Unscrupulous

Sometimes in life we feel so depressed,
but unlike you, someone somewhere is not so blessed.
Somewhere in Burma a Muslim weeps,
while the rest of the world sleeps.
Somewhere in the west, Muslims are labelled as terrorists,
after the turn over events of the 9/11 twist.
Somewhere in a country a Muslim struggles to follow the Islamic lifestyle,
while its government gleefully smile.
Somewhere a Muslim brother dies in the midst of war
while he has nothing to do with all the deaths galore.

Image

Some where a poor dad cries,
when he cant help his family to a bowl of rice.
Somewhere, a Muslim mother painfully sighs,
for his child the last time it closed its eyes.
Some where, a man ponders if Muslims are to be blamed on themselves.
After all, these are their countries and their affairs dispersed on the shelves.
Somewhere the hypocrisy and double standard of the super power countries
towards the Muslims is indeed shocking to see.
Somewhere someone in the world believes people are trying to destroy Islamic values and the Muslim *Ummah,
which is against any human law.
Somewhere, someone is praying “Oh lord! Save this Ummah! and save this people”
from this killing needle.
Somewhere in this world some one must see that Muslims in this world are not totally free
which every suffering soul shall sadly agree.
