The beautiful flame

I love to stare at this beautiful flame.
Bright in its light and warm in its heart.
It could light a room that’s pitch dark.
I can’t take my eyes off this beautiful flame.
The flame that keeps me alive.
It makes life bright.
As the flame dances around
I smile oddly as it dances with spread out wings.

I don’t know how
I don’t know why
but I feel the brightness fading
and its beauty evaporating.

I know one day this strong wax candle
will melt down to the last drop.
It will burn my hand but yet I choose to hold it.
Because holding this beautiful flame is worth the pain.

I don’t know how
I don’t know why
but I’m trying my best keep the flame alive
by covering it with my hand.

I see the flame fight
I see it struggle.
I know it’s strong and kind.
But then again one night I know it’s going to die.
I hope that night comes late and slow.
Because today and tonight I want it to shine as brightly as it could.

Beautiful woman of flame 2

I’m mad as hell and I’m not going to take this anymore!!!

Recently, I have been feeling quite down. I feel it difficult to do what I want to do normally. It feels like there’s a huge absence of fire in my belly. So, like most I went on YouTube searching for inspiration. Now the thing is I have done this so many times that the average inspirational video don’t work on me so I always have to go in search of videos with that extra bit of spark in it. Which in the end I always came across. This time too I found one, it was some of the greatest speeches ever in movies. I found this quite intriguing in particular. . Link is at the bottom. Check it out. I hope check the link than read because the words written could be wrong in some senses.

“I don’t have to tell you things are bad. Everybody knows things are bad. It’s a depression. Everybody’s out of work or scared of losing their job. The dollar buys a nickel’s worth, banks are going bust, shopkeepers keep a gun under the counter. Punks are running wild in the street and there’s nobody anywhere who seems to know what to do, and there’s no end to it. We know the air is unfit to breathe and our food is unfit to eat, and we sit watching our TV’s while some local newscaster tells us that today we had fifteen homicides and sixty-three violent crimes, as if that’s the way it’s supposed to be. We know things are bad – worse than bad. They’re crazy. It’s like everything everywhere is going crazy, so we don’t go out anymore. We sit in the house, and slowly the world we are living in is getting smaller, and all we say is, ‘Please, at least leave us alone in our living rooms. Let me have my toaster and my TV and my steel-belted radials and I won’t say anything. Just leave us alone.’ Well, I’m not gonna leave you alone. I want you to get mad! I don’t want you to protest. I don’t want you to riot – I don’t want you to write to your congressman because I wouldn’t know what to tell you to write. I don’t know what to do about the depression and the inflation and the Russians and the crime in the street. All I know is that first you’ve got to get mad. You’ve got to say, ‘I’m a HUMAN BEING, God damn it! My life has VALUE!’ So I want you to get up now. I want all of you to get up out of your chairs. I want you to get up right now and go to the window. Open it, and stick your head out, and yell, ‘I’M AS MAD AS HELL, AND I’M NOT GOING TO TAKE THIS ANYMORE!’ I want you to get up right now, sit up, go to your windows, open them and stick your head out and yell – ‘I’m as mad as hell and I’m not going to take this anymore!’ Things have got to change. But first, you’ve gotta get mad!… You’ve got to say, ‘I’m as mad as hell, and I’m not going to take this anymore!’ Then we’ll figure out what to do about the depression and the inflation and the oil crisis. But first get up out of your chairs, open the window, stick your head out, and yell, and say it: “I’M AS MAD AS HELL, AND I’M NOT GOING TO TAKE THIS ANYMORE!”

30 Lessons life taught me!

I’ll be turning 18 this year so to celebrate growing older and also courtesy of some self-reflection. I listed out some lessons that life taught me along the way. Also I would like extend my thanks to Zaid and Muzawwir for their input as well.

7. The best is yet to come.
8. No one remembers the one who gave up.
9. Love your parents no matter what.
10. Whatever happens just smile and accept it. You can’t control fate but you can control how you react to it.
11. Talk to God! He always listens.
12. Time heals most things.
13. One small conversation with a friend. Can sometimes make you forget all life’s problems.

27. Remember those who helped you.
28. Give without condition. God will smile on you.
29. Take a day off and treat your self. You are a human after all.
30. Last one. You can make a difference or you can just fit in but remember you just can’t do both. Your choice.

Do something your future self will thank you for…

“Do something your future self will thank you for…”

My friend sent me this quote the other day. The power of this quote is undoubtedly immense. We are who we are today because of the actions of our past selves. When we were our past selves did we think that we would have ended up where we are today? Maybe we intended ourselves to end up in a certain way but time and life drifted away the tendency of that happening. Are we thankful for our past self’s actions? Whatever the answer is to that question, do something today that your future self will thank you for, than regretting what your past self did.

Feed your mind with creativity

I used to read short stories and novels almost every day. Sometimes I even go 8 hours reading continuously. Then as years went by the amount of work in life piled up and the time I spent reading books decreased. As social media took the lives of teenagers and adults alike, reading books become more of an afterthought when, only a few years ago it was more of a habit that made us entangled in a world of our own. To be honest I really miss the days when I used to stay up late not by watching movies or socializing on social media networks but reading novels that swept my feet and took me on a journey of its own.

In the recent times as I try to make creative decisions my mind tends to be lazy, unoriginal, boring and dull. When I used to do a lot of reading  these issues were never a problem for me. Sad to say I feel that today, the active mind of mine that used to ask questions and share a lot of ideas has worn out. I feel that it is the lack of feeding my mind with creativity and imagination. I guess you realized the worth of having something,  is only when you really need that something but it you don’t have it. It’s time for me to start reading more. I really miss reading and I regret to have stopped reading as much as I used to.

Nurture your mind with great thoughts, for you will never go any higher than you think.'

“Nurture your mind with great thoughts, for you will never go any higher than you think.”

My need for creative thinking and speaking out brainstorming ideas has forced me to make time for reading. The famous saying, “Reading maketh a full man” over flows with great meaning which I have now come to realize its meaning through my own experience.

“If you care for your mind, if you nurture it and if you cultivate it just like a fertile, rich garden, it will blossom far beyond your expectations. But if you let the weeds take root, lasting peace of mind and deep inner harmony will always elude you.” from the book, THE MONK WHO SOLD HIS FERRARI.

what happened to your burning desire?

What’s a burning desire? It is the motivation that makes you work, suffer, dance, cry, shout, stand up for what you want and believe that you can achieve your dreams. It’s when someone engages in an activity so much that it becomes what always thinks about, talks about and dreams about. There’s quotation of Martin Luther, “If you have not discovered anything to die for then you are not fit enough to live.” This world needs more people with burning desires. People whose lives would be judged by their actions. Surprisingly, whether you knew it or not, from very young days of your childhood you had experienced these burning desires. When we kids, we wanted to be superheroes, pilots, engineers, poets, writers, princesses, policemen, painters, we wanted to change the world, stand up and be counted, to get attention, climb trees, cross the road, buy candy and eat a lot of ice creams. You know that if children would not get what they want such as the chocolates, ice creams. They would cry! but why ?  because they would do anything to get what they want. I’m not saying to give the children what they want because as we all know that would make them stubborn. Unless if they deserve it of course! What I’m really pointing out is the fact that we ‘had’ those burning desires & asking you where did they go?

All you need is a burning desire.

Let me tell you where I think they got lost and remember things lost can be found. As we grew up, life taught us many things. Bad people got into our lives, disappointments, we got hurt, we fell down, we lost and then we followed the trend that goes by the principle, “we should not think too big, reach too high or love too much.” Some would call it life lessons because of that they stop chasing what they want. But I would take it as an opportunity to prove them wrong and make it a reason to fight for you want. You are meant to shine. You have a purpose, you just need to find it again. Like I said before, things lost can be found. Believe me once you find it, it will become the core of your existence. Thus, you will create your destiny. It get you up at the crack of dawn with fire in belly! Fire burning so bright, a burning desire you can call it.  A desire that will consume you! A desire that you will work hard for! A desire so beautiful and so meaningful. You will change the world and I firmly believe in that! You may want to help the people around. Help your colleagues reach their potential. Help the community. Bring innovative thinking in to the environment around you. All you need is get inside your mind and heart and find that beautiful, meaningful, lost burning desire!

I read about a man who is a lawyer, a leadership expert, motivational speaker, author, social worker. He wants people around the world to reach their potential. That is the whole population. He works day in and day out to try to make this a reality. Extremely crazy? Yes, but an extreme burning desire ? Definitely!

Is he special than you are? No,he just found his cause, his burning desire!

Smiling is contagious !

Smile! It’s a beautiful thing in every perspective. Have you ever smiled at anyone? Now don’t say no. Cause that would be absurd. Have you ever smiled at a stranger walking past you? Have you ever smiled at some one who just crossed your path? The tendency is that they would smile back. Everyday when I went to school. I smiled at almost everyone in the streets. They smiled back! When you smile, you release a positive energy. The universal fact is that positive attracts positive and it is a no brainer! In fact smiling is a universal language itself. It doesn’t have any barriers. Babies smile, young people smile, old people smile even animals smile! ( They do if you really look closely :p )

Smile!

The other day when I had classes. I choose to use the public transport bus service. I got in and found my self a seat. The bus conductor asked me for my bus fare. He asked in a very ugly and unruly manner.  He had a very straight face. He put his hand in front and waved his fingers to and fro asking for the bus fare. It was similar to the way when people fight and where they taunt the opposition asking for more. I was shocked when he asked for the money. I stayed calm and smiled at him. He smiled back and took my the money I gave him. I observed him as he went to the other passengers to collect their fares. To my astonishment as he was collected the fares he gave a smile to all his customers; and NO all the customers were not ladies! It was like chain reaction that kept going on and on. Then I realized smiling is contagious. It made the whole bus feel that its full of positive energy. And it all began with just one smile. I can definitely say that the travelers on the bus would have taken that positive energy and spread it in their workplace, school or where ever they went.  So, you got the message guys? Don’t forget to smile. Where ever you go, always smile. You will never know, your smile could change somebody’s life. Maybe even save a life! So smile away people! Where there’s a smile, happiness is not far around the corner.

While you are at it check out these people who trying make other people smile at a global level!

I am me

This is me.
This is how I’ll be.
I lay on my bed and sip my tea.
Thinking about life, freedom and my liberty.
Surrounding me the words of freedom as far as my eyes can see.
In the newspapers, radio and T.V
Everyone is in a rush and has the urge for emotion.
So wide, so diverse, so unpredictable to explain even for Tennessee.
This is me.
This is how I’ll be.
I may eat like a monkey.
I may act like a donkey.
I may think like a turkey.
and yes, seems like a comedy.
But this is me.
This is how I’ll be
So, don’t judge me.
Cause your validation is not important to me.
Same goes to you lady.
I don’t care about the colour of your saree
or design of your goatee.
Or where you were born as a baby.
Let’s put our differences and other things that I didn’t mention because I’m too lazy.
By doing so, lets live in harmony.
Because;
you need to be you.
I need to be me.
This is what we all must be.
or else we may lose our individuality.

Dare to be yourself!

Did you know? If you had 300 billion brothers and sisters. You would still not be exactly the same as them. Neither, would they be exactly same as each other. Every human is born unique to this would. God is the main and only contributor to insert that individuality into that person. It’s sad to see that in today’s society respect towards individuality has ceased to exist.  Today I mainly see people who just wants to fit in to society rather than stand out. Wheres individuality gone and how were imitators born ?

Be yourself

A quote that I came across while reading a book. “Imitating is suicide” It just doesn’t mean that you literally  kill yourself but rather you kill you own individual personality. Be a lion not a buffalo. Yes, it’s funny but it has meaning. A lion wakes up everyday knowing that he must run faster than his prey or else he will starve. He hunts alone. He has his own way of life. Buffalo! He disappears to his heard. Do I need to explain more ?

What are you waiting for ? Bring out the great person within you! Remember this along the way, the greatest thinkers are the people who dare to be themself.  There’s no other better feeling in the world than being yourself.

What are you doing for others?

Few years ago I met a teacher. She was a very inspiring person. She joined my school only a few years ago. Yet, she has been one of the many people who is at the center of development of my school. She targets English language and social service. I can tell you working with her is an inspiration to my life as a student. I learnt a lot! That is not the fact but the thing is she is a person who creates many opportunities for others to mold themselves in to better people. So, that they would be worthy people to the society. My question is, what does she gain by giving opportunities to others? Its not just mere tiny opportunities but big ones that gives the person who takes it, a vast exposure to life in the making. Today I realized what she gains.

I was elected as the 2013 President of Unique Zahirianz, an International Club of Zahira College. Promotes international leadership among the students. I was invited to a public program which is about Volunteerism and its importance. A bright idea struck me. What if I ask the members of the club to take part in it. It’s very good program to attend. Especially at the beginning of the year. So I made sure all of them would attend it. They all agreed to come. I felt I did a great job in letting the members expose themselves to opportunities that would help them later in life.

It’s a feeling that come from within your heart. A special kind of happiness. But what is the purpose of finding happiness? If they do actually succeed in their lives. You know that you did something even if its a small thing you did help that person succeeded in life. Which means his you are jigsaw piece to someone’s success. That’s the best achievement far from possible in today’s world. He might not remember you but god knows. God shall smile on your deed and reward with his highest blessing. To appreciate the success of someone else is something but hey if you can’t appreciate the his journey and hard work, then you won’t appreciate your successes either.
